Autumn Family Forest School

23rd Oct 2024

Primary 1 and 2 have been making the most of the Autumn sunshine this half term.

We come together twice a week for our Forest School sessions and we have been having the best time!

We have been searching the school garden for signs of Autumn and we found everything from blackberries and birds to mushrooms and squirrels.  We have even had a hedgehog sighting!

We have been learning how to use hammers this half term and been using them to explore pumpkins.

In our mud kitchen we have been cooking up a storm, making creepy cookies and spooky mud cakes.

We have also been practising our building skills using everything from wooden bricks to crates and bamboo to create houses, tents and dens.

And if that wasn’t enough we have also been racing around our playground using our trikes and bikes!

And to finish up we invited our grown ups to come play with us in the first ‘Family Forest School’ session of the year…we even lit our fire pit for the occasion and enjoyed toasting cinnamon apples.

Thank you so much to all the grown ups who came to play! The girls were so delighted to be able to show off their skills!
