Awesome Area

In Primary 6 this morning we were very busy focusing on our numeracy topic - measurement and finding the area. We focused on the counting squares method today and worked hard to draw complex shapes in our numeracy books. We learnt that one square in our numeracy book was equal to one square centimetre and used this method to calculate the area. The girls used their division skills to calculate the area when there are multiple half squares in the shape. We made our learning even sweeter when we used Skittles instead of squares to count and cover the area inside the shapes!
