Fairy Tale Fun

We absolutely loved our Fairy Tale topic in Primary 2. 

During play we planned and then created famous castles from around Northern Ireland using junk art.  We also created castles with our Duplo.

We explored our Fairy Tales at our small world and role play areas and completed plenty of Fairy tale puzzles and  games.

We did a lot of work on retelling stories using the “Talk for Writing” method; we retell the story using actions and a story map to tell a story off by heart. 

After we had retold lots of stories it was our turn to create our own fairy tales! We used story stones, word mats and whiteboards to help us.
