Genevieve the Goat comes to Holy Cross
9th Oct 2015
Genevieve the Goat and Charlotte, from Cancer NI, visited our primary one and two pupils on Wednesday. The story, "Genevieve and the Farmyard Olympics", helped the children learn about the importance of physical exercise and healthy eating at a young age. They sorted food using a traffic light system. Green for the food we should eat lots of. Amber for the foods we should eat a little of and Red for the foods we should only eat a little of. The key messages were:
- Eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables every day. (A portion size is the size of your own fist.)
- Do plenty of exercise like walking, running, dancing or swimming.
