Night time in Primary One
18th Dec 2024
Our topic this term was all about night. We started with the big book, ‘Peace at Last' by Jill Murphy and discussed night time routines. The girls focused on these routines in their role play. They viewed Van Gogh's painting, 'Starry Night' and chatted about what they saw before painting their own version. We found out about nocturnal animals and made our very own woods in the small world tray. The girls used loose parts to create owls focusing on identifiable features. They listened to a wide selection of fact and fiction books to extend their knowledge and language. Our big book, 'Whatever Next' by Jill Murphy, led us to find out information about the moon. The girls made amazing rockets at home with their family and brought them into school.
