Potato Planting

In World Around Us, the Primary Seven girls have been learning about how the potato was affected by the Blight during the Famine. Primary Seven enjoyed spending the afternoon in our school garden planting different varieties of potatoes.  Before going out to the garden, the children discovered the process of growing a potato plant from chitting to harvesting the potatoes. We have used this information to create our own instructions for growing potatoes.
