Emma from Community Sports Network taught P6 all about the sugars that are in some of their favourite treats. Did you know we should only have 7 cubes of sugar a day (each cube is about 4grams)? This includes the hidden sugars in our fruit and even in our bread. If we don’t use all the sugar we ingest it will turn to fat. It can also damage our teeth.
We were shocked to find out how much sugar is in some of our treats. Did you know a single scoop of vanilla ice-cream contains 5 sugar cubes? It is so important to be aware of what we are putting into our body. We played games to help us understand how much exercise it would take to burn off all the calories we take in.
