Sun Scientists
2nd Jun 2016
Primary 5 were learning all about the importance of staying safe in the sun today. They were visited by Charlotte from Cancer Focus who showed them the impact the UV rays can have on their skin. They learned how important it is to protect their delicate skin and used a UV watch to see how strong the sun was in different areas of the school. They also learned a tongue twister to help them remember the different ways they can protect themselves:
SLIP, SLAP, SLOP, SLIDE, SHADE
SLIP on a t-shirt
SLAP on a hat
SLOP on some sunscreen
SLIDE on sunglasses
Seek the SHADE
