Topic Maths - Weight

Our new Maths topic in Primary 4 is Weight.

The photos show the girls using balancing scales. They had to estimate how many cubes they thought would be needed to balance different objects we use in the classroom like pencils, rubbers, books, whiteboards and markers.

They now also know that 1000g = 1kg, a bag of sugar weighs 1kg and they can compare the weight of objects to 1kg using the words heavier and lighter.

They are looking forward to learning how to use and read weighing scales after Easter.
