Winter Forest Schools

Winter Forest Schools in the Foundation Stage was all about birds.

We are lucky that in Holy Cross Girls’ that we have a wonderful hedgerow in our school garden that is home to so many different birds; magpies, collared doves, sparrows and robins to name a few! 

We took our clipboards, our binoculars and of course our wellies and went off in search of birds as part of the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch. 

We also used our loose parts to make bird art using lots of non fiction books and posters to help us. 

To encourage even more birds to our school garden we also made bird feeders to hang up around the school grounds.
